Steve Latham

Steve considers himself the luckiest man at LIONS, collaborating with industry legends to design and deliver comprehensive training and education for creative talent, no matter their career level.

He began his career working with the NHS but quickly realised it wasn’t for him. He wasn’t saving lives, but did spend 6 months reorganising the huge HR filing cabinet! Following a cycling tour around Europe, he ended up as a marketer and loved it.

Since 2005, he has worked for LIONS, establishing the foundations and frameworks that enable LIONS to deliver world-class content to a global audience throughout the year. LIONS is a celebration of creativity in all its forms and speaking at the Festival is now regarded as one of the hottest gigs of the industry calendar.

With a strong belief that ‘everyone is creative’, Steve launched LIONS Learning which has supported the development of over 3,000 graduates, in-person and online. From students to C-suite, an opportunity exists for talent to learn from industry leaders and build their networks, actionable frameworks, and confidence.

Notable launches include the CMO Accelerator, LIONS Academies, and expanding the Young Lions Competition to seven unique competitions held annually for over 10,000 participants.

In 2024, he developed and launched The LIONS cMBA, a 10-week online learning programme that helps creatives and marketing professionals understand the tools, techniques and insights needed to deliver their most impactful work and become creative leaders in their own right.

Steve is also passionate about providing equitable opportunities, launching the LIONS Scholarship in 2023, and currently leads the in-house ‘Creativity in Business’ intern programme at LIONS, now in its 8th edition.

Steve’s journey at LIONS reflects a deep commitment to leadership, innovation in learning, and fostering diversity and empowerment within the creative community.

He also plays golf badly and wants a golden retriever.
